The European Shortages Monitoring Platform (ESMP) is an EMA initiative to mitigate medicine shortages across the European Economic Area. Submitting correctly to ESMP depends on a chain of interconnected systems: XEVMPD, PMS, IRIS. Our experience means we can guide you through each step in the right order.
Notify marketing status in IRIS
ESMP requires that the marketing status of your authorised products be notified to IRIS before shortage reporting is possible. We can assist you in completing these notifications correctly and on time.
Extract and validate your product portfolio in PMS
Products must be extracted from your company portfolio in the Product Management Services platform, where they originate from XEVMPD. We verify that your product groupings are accurate so that no authorised products are inadvertently excluded from your ESMP submissions.
Correct upstream XEVMPD submissions
Incorrect groupings in PMS are typically the result of incorrect submissions to XEVMPD in the first place. We review and correct these upstream submissions to ensure your full portfolio flows through properly to ESMP.
Set up the required user roles across platforms
Working with ESMP requires the correct user roles across ESMP, IRIS, PMS, and XEVMPD. We guide you through the access setup for each system so that the right people have the right permissions from the start.
